After Comin Out Hard dropped I was eagerly waiting for their next album. From the beginning to the end, this is an amazing CD. After hearing the first couple of songs, the CD was immediately purchased. During this time, my funds were limited and the CD was like 22 dollars. The store owner would let us listen to the music before purchasing it. There was a small store up the street that sold typical convenience store stuff plus CDs. I remember when this album came out like it was yesterday. 8Ball & MJG is my favorite duo ever in hip hop. What a perfect title for their Suave House Records debut album. After disappearing for a while, the label dropped more music, which included an album from Rick Ross. From 1993 to 1998, Suave House Records released several classic albums. Comin Out Hard was a southern classic and it put Suave House Records on the map. In the summer of 1993 is when I first discovered them when they dropped 8Ball & MJG’s debut album. They housed artists like 8Ball & MJG, South Circle, Crime Boss, Tela and Mr. Suave House Records was discovered by Tony Draper back in 1990. My third one would have to be Suave House Records. In June 2008, 8Ball & MJG signed to Grand Hustle Records and released their eighth studio album, Ten Toes Down, in May 2010.Death Row and No Limit Records have always been my two favorite labels ever. Although 8Ball had released several solo albums throughout the 2000s, MJG released his first solo work in eleven years: the studio albums Pimp Tight and This Might Be the Day, both released in 2008. Their next album on Bad Boy, 2007's Ridin High, did not achieve as much success as its predecessor and the group left the label that same year to sign to Real Talk Entertainment. Their first album for the label, Living Legends, was released in 2004 and was certified Gold.
In the early 2000s, 8Ball & MJG signed to the Bad Boy Records spin-off Bad Boy South. The following year, they released their fifth album, Space Age 4 Eva. They reunited in 1999 to release their fourth album as a group, entitled In Our Lifetime. In the late 1990s, the two members embarked on solo careers, resulting in the albums No More Glory by MJG in 1997 and Lost by 8Ball in 1998. It and their subsequent albums in the 1990s, including 1994's On the Outside Looking In and 1995's On Top of the World, cemented their status as some of the South's most popular rappers.
The duo debuted in 1991 with the three-track EP Listen to the Lyrics, before releasing their debut studio album, Comin' Out Hard, two years later. It consists of rappers Premmro "8Ball" Smith and Marlon "MJG" Goodwin, who first met at middle school in 1984.
